TYPES OF FILES ACCEPTED

We prefer Adobe Illustrator files (.ai or .eps) with fonts outlined or provided. We can also accept Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop files.

HOW TO SEND FILES

You can email files directly to us at info@methodandmadness.co or send them using a free wetransfer.com upload system and email us the link to download. If you have your own delivery system you are welcome to use that as well.

HOW TO INDICATE PROCESSES IN LAYERED FILE

For designs that contain Blind Impressions, Die cutting, Scoring or Perforating, please indicate each process using a unique color different from your printed ink colors. You can also separate each process to it's own layer in the file, indicating the process in the layer name.

INDICATE COLOR SELECTIONS IN FILES

Each color in your file needs to be selected as a Pantone Solid Uncoated color. If you select a color using any other method such as CMYK or RGB then we'll request you resend the file with Pantone Solid Uncoated colors or give us the okay to create a closely matching color. Since each computer screen represents colors differently the only consistent way to guarantee a color match is by selecting a Pantone Solid Uncoated color.

MINIMUM LETTERPRESS FONT SIZE AND LINE WEIGHT/DOT SIZE
  • Dots or Dotted Lines must be at least 1pt
  • Solid Lines or Strokes must be at least 1pt
  • 4pt is the smallest Font Size
  • The dots found in letters and symbols like "i" or "!" or "." must be at least 1pt

The letterpress plate manufacturer requests the above specs for font size and line weight minimums, otherwise the printing plates will lose it's structural integrity. If you want smaller sizes we can print them for you but we cannot guarantee the printing plate will hold up during printing. If you choose to waive these minimum size requirements then we cannot offer a refund.

FEES IF FILES NOT PREPPED PROPERLY

We'll first request you re-submit the files if they're not set up properly. If we have to prep your files for you there will be a minimum fee of $150 added to your order. The final fee will depend on the number of files or complexity of the design we have to prep. Also note that the timeline of your job may be extended if file prepping issues occur.
